On August 5, SINOSICO organized the council meeting of the National Engineering Research Center for Silicon-based Materials Preparation Technology, along with an academic exchange on semiconductor material research and applications. Academician Yang Deren from the Chinese Academy of Sciences delivered a keynote speech. Attendees included Zhao Zhongwei, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Xu Yixian, Mayor of Luoyang City; and Ren Lijun, Deputy Mayor of Luoyang City. Wan Zhanwei, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission; He Wuzhou, Vice Chairperson of the CPPCC Luoyang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the CPC Mengjin District Committee; Liu Cheng, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairperson of China ENFI Engineering; and Zhang Hewen, Deputy General Manager of China ENFI Engineering and Chairperson of SINOSICO, also attended and delivered speeches. More than 150 participants, including experts and scholars from the semiconductor industry chain, representatives from enterprises, and officials from Luoyang municipal government departments and Mengjin district government departments, attended the meeting.
This conference was a crucial initiative of Henan Province to drive industrial innovation through technological advancements, establish an innovation landscape with "Two Cities and One Valley," and accelerate the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces. It brought together industry experts to provide valuable insights and suggestions for the development of the semiconductor industry in Luoyang, supporting the high-quality development of the integrated circuit and intelligent sensor industry chain in the region.
The meeting assembled the second council of the Center, held a ceremony for the appointment of council members and academic committee members, and reviewed the Center's Articles of Association, with the Center reporting its work summary and development plan.
Academician Yang Deren and other experts delivered keynote addresses that focused on the latest trends in the semiconductor industry, exploring new achievements and trends aimed at advancing the industry and empowering the development of new quality productive forces.
During the discussion segment, Academician Yang Deren, Academician Zhao Zhongwei, and other experts provided valuable opinions and suggestions for the development of the Center, addressing aspects such as research focus, organizational mechanisms, talent development, and university partnerships. Guests attending the meeting also toured the Center for further insights.
Moving forward, the Center will consistently align with national strategies, positioning silicon-based materials as a key direction for emerging industry development. It will continue to strengthen technical research, cultivate a source of original technologies, and promote the integration of science and industry. SINOSICO will uphold its mission to "shoulder national responsibilities and address industry shortcomings," contributing significantly to the advancement of new quality productive forces.
